Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, has submitted his expression of interest and nomination forms for the for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial election.
Hamzat, who had been endorsed as the consensus candidate by several Lagos APC stakeholders and leaders, including President Bola Tinubu, submitted the forms at the party’s national headquarters on Thursday.
The deputy governor made this known in a statement issued on his X handle.
He maintained that his aspiration to succeed his principal, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, was borne out of service, responsibility, and building a Lagos that works for all residents and businesses.
Hamzat expressed confidence in his political experience while calling for the continuation of the good works done in the state by the APC administration.
