The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested three persons with disability (PWDs) for alleged drug trafficking in separate operations across Anambra State and Kwara State.
The agency said the 60-year-old Romanus Nwabara was arrested at Akpaka Forest in Onitsha, where he was found with 250grams of skunk in retail sachets.
The NDLEA also seized cannabis worth N5.8 billion during a major raid in Lagos State.
The NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, confirmed the arrests in a statement released on Sunday.
In another operation, NDLEA officers arrested Amos Kenneth, 25, in Ogbunike, Anambra State.
The suspect was found with 160.3 grams of Tramadol, 80 Diazepam pills, 38.23 grams of Exol 5, and 176.93 grams of skunk.
The NDLEA also arrested Usman Salisu during a patrol along Bode Saadu in Kwara State.
A search of a commercial vehicle uncovered 6.3 kilograms of skunk hidden inside a brown school bag linked to the suspect.
In Lagos, NDLEA operatives raided a mansion in Lekki Phase 1 used as a drug stash house.
The operation led to the seizure of 4,000 parcels of Loud, a strong strain of imported cannabis.
The drugs weighed 2,326 kilograms and had an estimated street value of N5.815 billion.
Officers also recovered two Mercedes-Benz buses and designer packaging sachets used for retail drug distribution.
Elsewhere, NDLEA officers arrested Emmanuel Osita Okeke with 129 kilograms of skunk in Nasarawa State.
Along the Okene-Lokoja highway in Kogi State, officers intercepted a commuter bus heading to Abuja.
The search uncovered 766 kilograms of skunk packed in 76 jumbo bags.
Three suspects; Mathew Omohove, Ebuka Desmond and Babangida Musa were arrested.
In another Lagos raid, NDLEA officers stormed a skuchies production factory in Ijora Badia.
The agency arrested Bose Jamiu and Gbenga Gege during the operation.
Officers recovered 270 litres of skuchies and 106 grams of Tramadol.
NDLEA Chairman, Mohamed Buba Marwa, praised officers for the arrests and drug seizures.
He urged commands across Nigeria to sustain the fight against drug trafficking while expanding anti-drug awareness campaigns.
