The residents of Igboho town abducted by suspected bandits have been released by the insurgents’ hours after the ultimatum issued by the self-acclaimed Yoruba ethnic advocate, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.
NPO Reported that Adeyemo had yesterday given the leaders of the Fulani community in Igboho town a two-hour ultimatum to secure the release of the victims kidnapped by suspected bandits.
The former Yoruba Nation agitator threatened reprisal attack on the Fulani’s in the town if they fail to secure the release of the victims.
Hours after confronting the Fulani leaders at the palace of the Igboho king, Adeyemo returned to the town with the rescued kidnap victims comprising of a woman, her son, and sibling.
His arrival had sparked jubilation in the community as residents trooped out to cheer the self-styled Yoruba ethnic advocate.
A video shared on X showed moment Adeyemo arrived with convoy of motorcyclists and vehicles conveying the rescued victims.
While the detail of the release is still sketchy, the freed kidnap victims had since been reunited with their families.
