Former Minister of Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, has been arrested at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.
Nnaji was reportedly apprehended by security operatives while preparing to board a chartered flight to Abuja on Wednesday.
The minister was taken into custody on Wednesday at the airport.
While the details of his arrest largely remain unclear as at the time of filing this report, some sources, according to Premium Times, disclosed that Nnaji is expected to be handed over to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) for interrogation.
Nnaji’s arrest is coming under the heels of a bench warrant issued by the Abuja Federal High Court.
NPO Reported that the court had on the 13th of June ordered the arrest of the ex-minister over the alleged certificate forgery scandal which led to his resignation.
The court ruled that the arrest warrant would remain in effect until the former minister is apprehended.
