The Abuja Federal High Court has ordered the arrest of former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, over alleged certificate forgery.
This reportedly followed an ex parte motion filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in a suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1160/2026.
In a ruling delivered on Thursday, the court granted the ICPC’s request for a warrant of arrest after the commission informed the court that Nnaji had repeatedly failed to honour its invitations for questioning.
Osuobeni Akponimisingha, the ICPC’s counsel, informed the court that the application became necessary due to Nnaji’s refusal to cooperate with ongoing investigations into allegations that he falsified his academic and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) credentials.
The commission also sought, and obtained, approval to declare the former minister wanted across national newspapers, social media platforms, and other public channels.
In addition, the court authorised law enforcement operatives, as well as private citizens, to identify and apprehend Nnaji and hand him over to the commission for investigation.
The court ruled that the arrest warrant would remain in effect until the former minister is apprehended.
NPO Reported that Nnaj had last year resigned from his role days after an investigative report by the Premium Times alleged that the former minister forged his NYSC certificate with his academic certificate from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, also alleged to be doctored.
