The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has conferred a chieftaincy title on Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, and presented him with a brand new car.
The actor announced the development in a Facebook post shared late Thursday, expressing gratitude to the monarch for the honour, warm reception and generous gifts extended to him and his wife, Afolashade Omiyinka.
According to Baba Ijesha, he was bestowed with the chieftaincy title of Baba Awada Konge Oduwa.
NPO reports that this comes just weeks after the actor and his wife, celebrity stylist Luminee, welcomed their first child together, a baby boy named King Kagar Omiyinka.
This also follows his release from prison in November 2025.
In July 2022, Baba Ijesha was sentenced to 16 years imprisonment after being convicted of sexually assaulting a minor.
The conferment of the chieftaincy title by the Ooni of Ife has therefore generated reactions on social media;
