The father of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, the Director-General of the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), has recounted how police operatives raided his residence while searching for his son.
Speaking in an interview with BBC Yoruba, the elderly man said the operatives cut through the barbed wire surrounding his compound before entering through the fence and identifying themselves as government security personnel.
He said the officers carried out a thorough search of the house, including cupboards, before leaving, only to return later that day and again the following night.
“After opening the door for them, they searched everywhere in my house, including the cupboard. They left around 1 p.m. and later returned to bring back my phone. They came again the following day around 11:30 p.m.,” he said.
According to him, the operatives never disclosed the offence his son committed, only informing him that the government was looking for him.
“I don’t know what my son did, and they never explained what he did. They just said the government is looking for him. I only know my son works for the government in Abuja, and I’ve never been to his workplace,” he said.
Adeyemi’s father described his son as a peaceful person, insisting he had never displayed violent behaviour from childhood and rejecting the allegations against him.
“My son is not a troublesome person. He doesn’t fight, from his childhood even till now. I’m not happy with the rumours I’m hearing about my son.
“All these things they are accusing my son of, my son didn’t do them. He came home about a week ago and returned the following day,” he added.
He further alleged that after telling the officers he did not know his son’s whereabouts beyond the fact that he worked in Abuja, they took him to a police station.
NPO recalls that this follows the ongoing fake agency and corruption scandal involving him and the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila
Adeniyi had accused Gbajabiamila of collecting N400 million bribe from him.
