Popular Nigerian advertising practitioner, Taiwo Osunsanya, has tragically died after reportedly suffering a medical emergency on the Lagos-Ibadan train service.
Osunsanya was said to have developed health complications during the journey from Lagos to Ibadan on Friday, prompting an emergency response from passengers and train personnel.
According to a statement issued by his wife, Mrs. Folake Osunsanya, the advert practitioner who was associated with Mediapro Consulting Limited, reportedly developed breathing difficulty during the ride.
Mrs. Osunsanya disclosed that the first aid administered to him proved abortive before being rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Abeokuta where he was confirmed dead.
“He boarded the train from Lagos to Ibadan. While on the train, they said he was not breathing well. They administered first aid, but I think it wasn’t enough.
“When the train got to Abeokuta station, the staff took him to the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, but they said they could not make it to the hospital before he gave up,” she said.
The wife of the deceased advert practitioner added that train personnel played an active role in conveying her husband to the hospital after the medical emergency occurred, although efforts to save his life were unsuccessful.
According to reports, Osunsanya’s demise came barely two weeks after he celebrated his 60th birthday on July 14.
