A Nigerian woman has tragically passed away after giving birth to twins.
The news of her demise was announced by her husband on his X handle on Tuesday, as he said the joy of welcoming their children felt meaningless without his wife.
In the post, he revealed that they had waited for years before finally welcoming the twins.
“After years of praying, hoping and waiting to become parents, especially at the age of 40, God finally answered our prayers.“
He stated that his wife gave up the ghost just hours after giving birth.

“This morning my wife gave birth to our beautiful twins that was supposed to be the happiest day of our lives.
“Just hours after bringing our children into the world, she passed away in the hospital,” he said.
The husband also revealed that on the same day, he received a long-awaited promotion at work, but it all felt meaningless because his wife was no more.
“On the same day, I received the promotion i had worked so hard for, but it felt meaningless.
He described the incident as a pain that would never go away and said he was deeply hurt that his wife would never get the chance to see their babies.
“But the woman who dreamed of holding our babies, watching their first smiles, hearing their first words, and raising them with me never got the chance.
“I walked into the hospital expecting to leave with my wife and our children. Instead i left carrying two newborns and a pain that will never go away.
The post, which has since gone viral, drew sympathy from netizens, who expressed their condolences over his loss.
“My deepest condolences to you for your loss. She left you with the best gift anyone can ever give (the gift of another life in those precious babies) as a signature of her love and sacrifice. So you could always see those babies as her love and sacrifice. May the Lord comfort you.” @ujones20
