Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun, the husband of former Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun, is dead.
His passing was announced in a statement issued by the Adeosun family on Wednesday.
According to the statement, he, died on August 5 at the age of 62 in Lagos.
The statement, signed by C. A. Adeosun on behalf of the family, said the deceased is survived by his wife, children and siblings, including Kuramo Capital founder Adewale Adeosun.
While announcing the loss, the family expressed gratitude for the support received and requested privacy as they mourn.
“Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in the assurance of God’s Word: ‘Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord… that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them’ (Revelation 14:13),” the statement read.
The family added that details of the funeral and Christian burial arrangements would be communicated at a later date.
“We thank all who have reached out with prayers, condolences and support,” the statement added.
NPO reports that his wife Kemi, had served as Nigeria’s Minister of Finance under former President Muhammadu Buhari from 2015 until her resignation in 2018.
