The Chris Imolumem-led faction of the Accord Party has declared support for the All Progressives Congress, candidate for the Osun Gubernatorial Election, Bola Oyebamiji, dumping its candidate and incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke.
Imolumem had on Thursday appeared at the grand finale of the APC campaign alongside other members of his faction’s National Working Committee.
He was invited to the stage by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who announced his presence to the crowd of supporters at the rally.
‘I understand that the Accord Party has thrown in the towel.’ Akpabio said before handing the mic to the Accord Party leader.
In address, Imolumem declared that the party had stand down its support for Adeleke as he charged members to cast their vote for Oyebamiji at the August 15 governorship election.
‘As the National Chairman of Accord Party, we have stand down our support for Adeleke, and today, we declare our support for AMBO.
‘All members of the Accord Party should go to poll on Saturday and vote for AMBO.’ He said.
