Nigerian Afrobeat singer, David Adeleke, Davido, has charged members of the Accord Party to stay at alert as he alleged plot to commence indiscriminate arrest of the members ahead of the August 15 governorship election in Osun state.
Davido raised the alarm in a post shared on his X handle on Thursday.
The OBO crooner who had been in the state since the last week to support the re-election bid of his uncle and incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, disclosed receiving intel on the plot.
He charged the Accord Party members to stay safe while reaffirming that the party will coast to victory at the poll.
‘Accord members stay safe! Just got intel next few hours they want to start arresting our people for nothing!!
‘The plan cannot work! Stay safe! Mount your guard! we coasting to victory.’ Davido wrote.
The singer’s warning is coming amid growing political violence and arrests of political actors by the police.
With less than 24 hours left before voters go to poll, allegations of more arrest targeted at political leaders of Accord Party with accused fingers pointed at the All Progressives Congress.
The APC had however repeatedly denied the allegations melted against them.
