Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission have commenced the sorting and counting of votes in polling units at the ongoing 2026 Osun Governorship Election.
Despite complaints on Bimodal Voters Accreditation System, BVAS, machine malfunction and reported cases of disruption of electoral process by armed hoodlums, INEC officials in several polling units have concluded voting exercise and proceeded to the sorting and counting of the votes.
INEC confirmed the commencement of the election’s next phase with pictures of officials from the polling units at Ayedaade and Olorunda Local Government Areas of Osun state.

NPO Reports correspondent also confirmed the commencement of sorting exercise at Osogbo Local Government Area.
Other LGAs where sorting and counting exercise has commenced include Isokan and Oriade.

Meanwhile, election is still ongoing in some parts of the state where election was delayed over BVAS machine malfunction.
