An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Funmi Hasstrup, has allegedly threatened voters at a polling centre in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State, during Saturday’s governorship election.
Hasstrup was reportedly captured in a video at Ward 4, Units 4 and 5, where she allegedly warned voters against choosing any candidate other than the APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO.
In the video, Hasstrup was heard saying, “Whoever doesn’t vote AMBO won’t leave the unit. If you like don’t vote for Ambo. I have someone there’.
The statement which has sparked concerns over alleged voter intimidation at the polling location.
The incident occurred as voters across the state participated in the election to choose a successor to Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The alleged threat has raised fresh concerns about the need for voters to be allowed to cast their ballots freely and without fear.
