Popular Nigerian TV host, Morayo Afolabi-Brown, has threatened content creator, Bayegun Oluwatoyin, popularly known as Woli Arole, with legal action over financial dispute.
Woli Arole had last week come under public spotlight after claiming that the money contributed to him by several Nigerian celebrities as thrift, popularly known as ajo, has allegedly been siphoned by gospel artist, Olamilekan Adenuga, popularly known as Ola Best.
The content creator had been dragged by several celebrities and other Nigerians who claimed to have contributed to him.
Also crying out was Morayo Brown who in a post on her Instagram handle on Sunday alleged contributing to Woli Arole’s thrift.
The host of the renowned Morayo Show, in A video posted on her IG, claimed to have contributed an undisclosed amount of money she intended to use for her forthcoming show in Ibadan.
‘Good morning Woli Arole. I couldn’t sleep all night because it’s been a long night. I usually don’t do videos like this, but I ran into a few videos from Ali Baba, Woli Agba, and few people talking about ajo.
‘I sincerely hope it doesn’t involve my money I kept in your hand because remember you told me about this your thrift.
‘I told you that I believe in what you are doing and because I trust that God is using you, I also said let me also be part of the ajo that you are doing.
I entrusted my money with you, and you told me it’s going to be in safe hands. Now this money is what I’m going to use for my show. We are going to Ibadan.
‘We are on a tour to Ibadan. The money for logistics, feeding, that is all I gave to you.’ She said.
Morayo demanded her money as she threatened legal action against Woli Arole, disclosing her strong connection with prominent lawyers like human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN, and the new President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Oyinkansola Badejo-Okunsanya.
‘Now I’m hearing OlaBest and something Canada. Listen, I’m in Nigeria. I’m not in Canada.
‘I don’t know who the heck OlaBest is.
‘May I remind you, my father was NBA President in Nigeria. Many lawyers, I have them. Femi Falana is somebody I can call immediately.
‘The current NBA President is my person. She was on my show recently. Don’t try me.
‘You can try a lot of people. You can’t try me. I gave you my money; I better have my money. I trusted you with my money. So, you dare not tell me that it is not with you.’ Morayo threatened.
It however remains unclear whether Woli Arole’s claim about the thrift is genuine as several members of the public had considered it another act by the content creator to set trend.
