The Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, has claimed that no other party will win the 2027 Presidential Election in the FCT except the All Progressives Congress.
Wike made the claim while speaking at his monthly media parley with journalists on Wednesday.
The minister, in his address, expressed confidence in the APC’s emergence as winner at the FCT during the election as he cited the series of projects executed across the capital city and the increase in the internally generated revenue by the FCT Administration as keys to the ruling party’s victory at the poll.
Recalling the early days of his administration as FCT Minister, Wike disclosed increasing the revenue generated by the capital city and disbursing the fund to the projects.
‘I came when the revenue we were making was about six to seven billion Naira a month. It is not by shouting.
‘Today, I have, by our own handwork, improved the revenue to not less than 35 to 40 billion every month.
‘What did I do, I sat down and affirmed that look, this is the fund we have gotten. Look at the projects we want to commission. As a priority, allocate so and so fund.
‘The remaining one, give to the ones that are yet to be commissioned. I was a governor, not a governor of any other state but governor of Rivers State.’ He said.
The minister held that his administration has been able to change the narratives around the FCT which he believes will aid the APC’s victory at the poll in 2027.
‘People thought you just came. Let me tell you something, before harmattan, there was cold. I didn’t just come from zero.
‘I came to FCT to prove a point that there is nothing difficult if you want to work. Whether you agree or not, we’ve been able to change that narrative.
‘I did it in Rivers state. In four years,I completed 12 flyovers with Julius Berger. That is why you will have more enemies.
‘That is why no party will win presidency in the FCT except APC.’ He said.
