The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate for the 2027 Ogun Governorship Election, Ladi Adebutu, has urged Ijebu Ode residents against voting for the All Progressives Congress (APC) as he accused the ruling party of preventing the residents from having a new Awujale.
Adebutu gave the charge while addressing his supporters in the town on Wednesday.
The PDP candidate questioned the APC administration’s delay of the selection of a new monarch for the vacant Awujale stool and other vacant monarch stools across the state.
“I asked why they haven’t allow Iperu to a new Alaperu. Why are yet to have a new king Odogbolu? Why are they delaying thd enthronement of a new Awujale?
“How are you going to vote for those who don’t want you to have a new king?” He asked.
Adebutu echoed the reaction of the supporters who accused the current APC administration of politicising the enthronement process and label any Ijebu resident that votes for thr ruling party as a bastard.
“Any Ijebu person voting for those who don’t want you to have a new Awujale is a bastard.” Adebutu said.
