The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto, Mathew Kukah has revealed that he will not campaign for any politician and his pulpit will not be used for such.
The Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sokoto made this revelation Friday morning, as a guest on the Morning Show on Arise TV.
The bishop responded to a question asked by anchorman, Rueben Abati, seeking to know his views on the Independent National Electoral Commission’s directive that no church or mosque should be used in campaigning for any political party or candidate.
In his response, Bishop Kukah said “For me, I won’t campaign for anybody because that’s not my job. But if people fall short of the law by using their pulpit or mosques to allow politicians to campaign, a lot of people would be most offended by that.’’
