Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has made a veiled remark to the comment credited to the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu where he said those who were nowhere when the party were being formed were those creating problems for the party.
The comment by Ayu had ignited reactions.
Speaking in Portharcourt as guest of the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike on Wednesday, Makinde, while commending Wike for the many infrastructural advancements of the state, said if those the national chairman described as ‘children’ could be doing great things in their respective states, he thinks what Nigeria need are children.
“If children are doing all of these, I think what Nigeria need are children,” Makinde said
He eulogized Governor Wike for standing for the truth and justice adding that Nigerians appreciate him
“My brother (Wike) can be rest assured that Nigerians appreciate him. Even, the fight that we lost, we did not lose with our heads bowed. We stood for the truth and we stood for what is good for the country.
“Aluta Continual! We will continue to fight for our space within PDP and we will continue to ensure that what is right for our people is giving to our people.”
Makinde commended Governor Wike for the great things he is doing in the state adding that he should be called Mr. “Quality Project” and not just ordinary project.
“What I’m seeing here is more than just project. People call you Mr. Project but I will rechristen you today and henceforth you should be referred to as ‘Mr. Quality Project’.
