Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has reshuffled the Governing Council of Osun State University (UNIOSUN) in said bid to strengthen the administration of the institution.
Adeleke said the move was aimed at ensuring continuity in the administration of the university and preventing any gap in its operations.
As contained in a statement issued by the state government on Friday, Adeleke dissloved the previous governinf council with a new council reconstituted.
The new council saw Sooko (Prof.) Adewale Abiodun Oladipo retain his position as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman.
Oladipo was also the chairman of the dissolved council.
Other members of the new council are Alhaji Gbadegesin Lawal; Otunba Titi Laoye-Ponnle; Mr Akinola Franklin Omoniyi; Chief Funminiyi Awotide; Mr Orija Samuel Adebayo; and Mrs Adewale Adetayo Bola.
Adeleke, in his address, charged the new council to build on the university’s achievements and provide the necessary support for its continued growth.
The governor specifically tasked the council to “sustain the excellent record of the University” and “support the university management for further innovative deliveries.”
The reconstitution, according to the statement, is also intended to “avoid gaps in the operation of the globally rated university.”
The inauguration of the new Governing Council will take place on Monday, August 31, 2026.
