Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, on Thursday said the loss of Osun State by the ruling All Progressive Congress is signal that the Peoples Democratic Party is taking over Nigeria next year.
Tambuwal, who is also the Chairman PDP’s Governors Forum, revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari told APC governors ahead of the Osun poll that he would not condone any form of intimidation using state apparatus.
He said the Osun electoral outcome is a show of how committed President Muhammad Buhari is to free and fair elections in the country.
Tambuwal made the statement today at the ongoing 97th PDP’s National Executive Council headed by Iyorchia Ayu, the party’s national chairman.
The former speaker said the just concluded Osun election has shown that PDP is back on its feet and ready to chase away APC in the next year’s general elections.
“I want to thank President Muhammad Buhari for what he told my colleagues that he would not entertain any form of intimidations or harassment by any individual in the forthcoming elections.
“The just concluded Osun election shown that our party is ready to take over from the ruling APC.
Commending the immediate past BoT chairman of the party, Walid Jibrin, for his sacrifice towards the success of the party.
“I commend all NEC members for the sacrifices you have been making in ensuring that our party coast home to victory in the next year’s elections.
“I commend the immediate past BoT chairman for his sacrifice and steadfastness.
“We have to come together to convince Nigerians that we are serious and doing well.
“We must all resolve our issues and work together,”Tambuwal submitted
