The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has pledged to restore dignity to the state’s public service by ensuring prompt payment of salaries and improving the welfare of civil servants if elected governor.
Oyebamiji made the promise on Sunday in Osogbo while unveiling his campaign manifesto, tagged “Prosperity Agenda.
In his remark, Oyebamiji said his administration would prioritise the welfare of workers through regular salary payments, improved working conditions and policies aimed at enhancing productivity and professionalism in the public service.
The APC candidate also pledged to address unemployment by implementing public works programmes, supporting businesses and attracting strategic investments to create sustainable jobs, particularly for young people.
As part of his economic agenda, Oyebamiji said his administration would strengthen the Osun State Investment Promotion Agency, establish industrial parks with modern infrastructure and improve the ease of doing business to attract both local and foreign investors.
He also promised to revive key economic assets, including the Dagbolu Dry Port, the Osun Free Trade Zone, the Osun-Osogbo Grove, Oba Hills National Park and the Ido-Osun Airport, to stimulate commerce, tourism, entrepreneurship and job creation.
According to him, revitalising the Dagbolu Dry Port and the Osun Free Trade Zone would enhance trade, improve logistics services and position Osun as a major industrial and export hub.
“We will resuscitate strategic economic assets that have the capacity to transform Osun’s economy, stimulate private sector investment and create wealth for our people,” Oyebamiji said.
He further pledged increased support for micro, small and medium enterprises through improved access to microcredit, grants and business development services.
On education, the APC flagbearer promised to modernise school infrastructure, recruit and train teachers, strengthen technical and vocational education and expand apprenticeship opportunities across the state.
He also vowed to upgrade healthcare facilities and leverage strategic partnerships to advance universal health coverage and improve access to quality healthcare for residents.
