Hundreds of Nigerian passengers were on Thursday stranded in Gbongan Ayedaade Local Government area of Osun as members of the National Association of Nigerian Students took over the Ife-Ibadan highway.
Their action was in furtherance of the protests against Ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
The strike has entered its 7th month.
There are no indications of a resolution in sight.
A similar protest had taken place on the Lagos-Ibadan Highway on Wednesday.
Some students had also taken over the Ibadan end of the Highway on Wednesday to deepen their anger.
A couple that were caught in the confusion told NPO Reports on telephone that they arrived at the Adebisi Akande Interchange Bridge at about 1pm and did not leave the place until about 4.10pm.
It took the intervention of some security men who came around and appealed to the students to leave the road, the couple told NPO Reports.
