He was on his way to Ibadan on Friday when kidnappers struck at the Kilometre 24 on the Lagos-Ibadan highway taking him and an unspecified number of persons away.
NPO Reported earlier that Agbaje was released last night and was undergoing medical checks.
His abduction had thrown the university community and members of his family into confusion.
It was gathered that the kidnappers released Agbaje at about 8pm Sunday. NPO Reports could not verify if ransom was paid before his release was secured. But a source confided in our correspondent that the kidnappers collected an undisclosed sum of money before he was let go.
