The former governor of Ekiti, Dr Kayode Fayemi, on Monday, inaugurated network of roads reconstructed by Gov. Gboyega Oyetola of Osun in Osogbo.
The reconstructed roads inaugurated by Fayemi are Osogbo-Agunbelewo-Okinni-Ilobu-Ifon-Osun and Kelebe-Osogbo-Iragbiji roads.
Speaking during the inauguration, Fayemi applauded Oyetola for keeping faith with his electoral promises, even in the face of daunting socio-economic challenges.
He acknowledged the tremendous achievements of the Oyetola-led administration in the state, stressing that the governor had turned difficulties to opportunities since assumption of office.
“I was delighted when I was asked if I would be available to honour you with my presence as the Special Guest of Honour at this inauguration ceremony.
“We know the burden of what you have been carrying since you assumed office,” he said.
In his remarks, Oyetola said his administration was resolute to continue to deliver on his promise until the last road in Osun was in good standing’.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to continuously set Osun on the world map of socio-economic development.
He said that the successful completion of most of the road projects was in fulfillment of the promise of his administration to fix the failed roads in the state.

Earlier in his welcome address, Commissioner for Works and Transport, Mr Remi Omowaye, said the government constructed the roads despite the fact that the Federal Government was still owing the state.
Omowaye said the state embarked on the reconstruction of the roads to ease traffic, lessen hardship and untold road mishaps, particularly in Osogbo, the State capital.
