The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has disbanded the Landed Properties Special Operations Team under the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LABSCA).
The governor said the action became necessary after being inundated with outcries over the illegal activities of members of the team.
LABSCA is under the Ministry of Physical Planning.
A statement by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy in the state, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, said the move by the Governor is part of the efforts to reposition the ministry itself.
“After a careful examination of these complaints from well meaning Lagosians, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has directed that the team, led by Engineer Peter Omotosho, be disbanded immediately.
“This is part of the steps the administration is taking towards repositioning the ministry and its agencies for better services to the public,” Omotosho’s statement explained

He added that henceforth, it will be “illegal to carry out any action in the name of the team until a new rebranded team is reconstituted. Anybody who flouts this directive will face severe consequences of his/her action.”
NPO Reports gathered that activities of members of the team have caused complaints with many affected persons petitioning the appropriate authorities over the matter.
The complaints had reached the governor who felt that the team must be stopped from causing further embarrassment to his administration.
