A former Correspondent of the Voice of Nigeria to the United Kingdom and respected Islamic Scholar, Najeemdeen Binuyo has died.
He reportedly died late Monday according to the information released by the Mainland Muslim Community in Lagos.
Respected Islamic scholar and author, Sheikh Najeemdeen Adegbite Binuyo is dead.
Binuyo, who was also an author, will be buried later today.
Sheikh Binuyo is survived by his wife, Alhaja Sidiquat Binuyo and children.
One of them is the former Deputy Chief of Staff to the former Governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola, Abdullahi Adeyanju Binuyo.
The mandatory Islamic funeral prayers will be performed on his corpse at the Lagos State Secretariat Central Mosque, Tuesday, 24 January, 2023 after the afternoon prayer, Salatul Zuhr while burial holds at the Lagos Mainland Muslim Community Cemetery at Ofada, Ogun State.
A statement released by the Lagos Mainland Muslim Community reads:
“With a heavy heart and total submission to the will of Allah, we announce the death of our father, Shaykh Najmuddeen Adegbite Binuyo.

“He returned to his Lord today, 2nd Rajab, 1444AH. We beseech Allaah, the Most High, to forgive and admit him into His mercy.”
The burial arrangement as released by the community showed that Salaat-ul-Janaazah will hold after Zuhr, by 1:00pm at the Lagos State Secretariat Masjid, Alausa – Lagos, on Tuesday, 24th January, 2023.”
The burial is expected to be graced by notable Islamic scholars, captains of industry, and political leaders.
