All eyes are on Osun, the southwest state of Nigeria today as the election petition tribunal rules on the petition against the victory of the Governor Ademola Adeleke today.
The three-man panel, led by Justice Tetse Kume will rule over the governorship election held in Osun State on the 16th of July, 2022.
Ousted Governor Oyetola and his party, the All Progressive Congress had challenged Adeleke’s victory in the July 16 2022 poll.
The counsel representing Oyetola, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), and Akin Olujinmi (SAN), insisted that Adeleke did not win the majority of lawful votes and should not have been declared the winner of the election.
Also in contention are the academic qualifications presented by Adeleke while bidding to be the Governor.
While Oyetola had assured his supporters that he was temporarily only out of office and would soon return, the Adeleke led government had said Oyetola is only in fantasy.
