Information reaching the NPO Reports indicate that the presidential campaign rally of the All Progressive Congress, which was slated to hold in Ibadan, the Oyo State on Tuesday has been shifted.
NPO Reports gathered that the decision to shift the campaign rally was informed by the current social unrest in the country’s largest city over the scarcity of Naira.
The hardship is further compounded by the acute fuel scarcity which has paralysed socio-economic activities.
The rally was meant to showcase the presidential candidate of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the governorship candidate of the party in Oyo State, Senator Teslim Folarin and other candidates of the party across levels.
All arrangements were said to be on top gear when, according to sources close to the planning, it was agreed that the current situation would not augur well for a campaign rally.
Ibadan is noted to be volatile and a hotbed of violence whenever there is a national upheaval.
Just on Friday, a branch of a commercial bank was badly damaged when irate youth protested the hardship being experienced over scarcity of Naira notes.
The APC presidential candidate, Tinubu had alleged that some elements in the presidency are using the combined crisis of the fuel scarcity and Naira scarcity to frustrate his victory in the presidential election slated for this month.

Though no official statement had been issued to this effect by the party either at the National secretariat or at the state chapter, NPO Reports learnt that the decision had been taken already and would soon be made public.
Attempt to confirm the development from the Director of Media and Publicity of the Presidential campaign council of the APC, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, was yet to yield fruits at the time of filing this report.
A message sent to him on phone was yet to be responded to.
