Former governor of Rivers, Nyesom Wike, his Osun counterpart, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, and for Kaduna state governor, Nasir el-Rufai, are some of the names on the ministerial nomination list submitted to the National Assembly for screening.
This is coming about two months after Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu was sworn in as Nigeria’s president.
It was gathered that the list was sent to senate president, Godswill Akpabio, this morning.
NPO Reports learnt Thursday morning that even with the submission of the list to the National Assembly, last minute lobbying had intensified as there are cases many of the hopefuls still believe could still be altered.
For instance, the nomination of the a prominent lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Lateef Fagbemi, is said to be undecided over his alleged romance with the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
The former Governor of Rivers state is not in the same camp of the All Progressive Congress with the president.
NPO Reports learnt that on the list are former governor of Ebonyi, Dave Umahi; Atiku Bagudu, former governor of Kebbi; Mohammed Badaru; former governor of Jigawa; and David Edevbie, governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 elections.
A former Minister of State for Health under the President Goodluck Jonathan administration, Prof Mohammed Ali Pate is also said to be on the list.
