The death has occurred of the National Publicity Secretary of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Emmanuel Yawe.
Yawe reportedly died after a sickness that had seen him in and out of the hospital.
His daughter, Talatu Yawe, who confirmed her father’s death, said didn’t wake up from his sleep Friday morning.
“Though he had been ill, but he was fine yesterday. He didn’t wake up from sleep this morning (Friday),” she said.
His last official assignment was on Thursday when he issued a statement on behalf of the ACF in condolence with the people of Benue State over the death of Hon. B. A Chacha, former Speaker of the House of Representatives.
He was 65.
While mourning Yawe, President Muhammadu Buhari, commiserated with family members, friends and associates of Yawe, particularly in the media, where he served meritoriously as a reporter and editor of various publications for many years.
The president’s condolence message is contained in a statement issued by his spokesman, Mr. Femi Adesina, on Friday in Abuja.
He prayed that the almighty God would receive the soul of the departed and comfort all his loved ones.
