The Nigerian Police force on Monday said it has arrested and taken into custody its officers seen in a viral video posted extorting.
The police in a tweet on Monday said it is committed to ensuring justice in the matter just as it asked a lady seen in the viral video to come forward to give details of what transpired.
“We want to inform our esteemed friends that the police officers allegedly involved in the incident from the video have been identified and are now in custody as part of our ongoing investigation.
“We are committed to ensuring a fair and thorough examination of this matter.”
Asking the lady seen in the video to come forward, the police said this is to ensure justice is done in the matter.
“To ensure transparency and gather all perspectives, we urgently request the lady seen in the video to please come forward and share her side of the story. Your input is crucial in helping us understand the situation fully. Your safety and well-being are our top priorities. The officers were alleged to have brutalised a woman in a car in PortHarcourt after an encounter.
