Many offices have been shut down on different parts of Nigeria on Tuesday as the two day warning strike called by the Nigerian Labour Congress commenced.
Port workers in Lagos, some transport workers and some government offices closed shops on Tuesday in obedience to the call by the NLC.
Though a section of workers under the Trade Union Congress has dissociated itself from the strike, the strike has taken its toll on some sectors of the economy.
TUC had said it would not join the strike saying it’s more disposed to dialogue than fighting the government.
A survey of the impact of the strikes conducted by the NPO Reports however showed that many banks are open for business on Tuesday.
A branch of the Zenith Bank Ikeja, First Bank Iju Fagba area of Lagos showed that some banks are working.
An official of the Zenith Bank who spoke with NPO Reports said the branch was opened and that a meeting of the senior officials ofthe branch was going on at the time.
