Nigerian Students under the aegis of the National Association of Nigerian Students on Tuesday threatened to overrun seat of government in Abuja should the Federal Government resolve its issues with the university teachers.
Sunday Asefon who is the President of the association said on Tuesday that arrangements have been concluded to mobilise millions of students to the Federal Capital Territory for an indefinite occupation of the FCT according to him, “until our universities are reopened.”
He said the government has not demonstrated enough good faith in its negotiations with the Academic Staff Union of of Universities.
Asefon said as part of strategies to bring an end to this face off, former NANS officials who are former or serving senators, House of Representatives members, Deputy Governors and others heading government agencies, will be drawn out to be part of the students rallies.
ASUU on Monday announced an extension of its strike after the expiration of its initial one month of warning strike.
The Union has accused the government of insincerity in its dealings over the negotiations.
