Buni, Sani Bello Parley Over APC; Urge Members to Focus on March 26
• As Akpanudoedehe is Absent
Chairman of the Caretaker Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee, and the former acting chairman of the committee, Governor Abubakar Siddique Sanni Bello have urged members of the All Progressive Congress to be focused on the March 26 convention date of the party.
This was the appeal on Thursday after both met with other members of the committee at the Yobe House, Abuja.
This was the first meeting after the return of the CECPC Chairman and his return from a medical trip and a visit to President Muhammadu Buhari in London.
The party had been gripped by tension after the take over of the national secretariat of the party by Bello claiming that Buni had been edged out.
However, the Secretary of the Committee, Senator John Akpanudoedehe, was visibly absent at the meeting giving speculations to earlier report over the vote of no confidence passed on him by some members of the committee.
Bello, while confirming the meeting, said Buni was “briefed on the progress we made regarding the March 26th National Convention, and I can assure everyone that all is set as we continue to work with the chairman to achieve the task ahead.”
He added that he “urged all party members and stakeholders to give the support and cooperation needed to ensure that we succeed to move APC forward.”
It was gathered that the two leaders of the party had received briefing from President Buhari to go resolve their differences and work together as a team to achieve the desired result from the national convention.
