President Bola Tinubu on Thursday bowed to public criticisms of his appointment of 25 year old Ibrahim Kashim Imam as the chairman of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency.
A statement by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media said the directive for the withdrawal takes effect immediately. The terse statement read, “President Bola Tinubu has directed the withdrawal of the nomination of Engr. Imam Kashim Imam to serve as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA).

The President’s withdrawal of the above-mentioned nomination is directed with immediate effect. ” NPO Reports that President Tinubu had last week named Imam, son of the chairman of TETFUND chairman of the agency a development that immediately sparked condemnations by Nigerians. Many had queried the experience the 25 year old possessed to make him qualify for the position.
All other appointments to the Board and Executive Management team of FERMA are not affected by this directive.
