As Minister of Labour Meets NLC, TUC

Air of uncertainties pervaded the country Tuesday morning as many watched out for how effective the nationwide industrial action declared by the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress will be.
NPO Reports learnt from sources close to the government that a meeting of the Minister of Labour and Employment, Simon Lalong is holding today to halt the strike.
As the day broke, many were in confusion whether the strike would go ahead as planned.
This was just as the Academic Staff Union of Universities said its members should join the strike.
NPO Reports observed that some workers were reporting for duties at their offices on Tuesday but were waiting for further directive.
A Secondary school teacher at a public school in the Zuba area of the Federal Capital Territory showed the NPO Reports a copy of a letter of directive signed by the NLC leadership asking all affliate bodies to join the strike as from today.
“But there is no circular from the Nigerian Union of Teachers so far. And we are here in our school and teaching is going on smoothly,” said the teacher.
Workers in the aviation sector said they were only waiting for directives to know if they would join the strike.
As at 9am Tuesday, many flights were still taking off as scheduled.
At the FCT, many were going about their normal duties.
In Lagos, lectures were going on smoothly at the Yaba College of Technology. A student who preferred not be to be named told the NPO Reports that
