The 27 lawmakers who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party into the All Progressive Congress from the Rivers state House of Assembly on Wednesday paid solidarity visit to the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Nyesom Wike in his residence.
Their visit coincided with the early morning demolition of the House of Assembly complex and the presentation of the state’s 2024 Appropriation to the House at a temporary House on Wednesday.
The lawmakers, whose seats have been declared vacant by the Speaker, Hon Edison Ehie, were seen singing birthday song in honour of Wike who sauntered into the place joining the lawmakers in their songs.
A High Court Sitting in Port Harcourt presided over by Hon. Justice M.W.Danagogo restrained Martin Amaewhule and Dumle Maol from Parading themselves nor interfering with the activities of Rt. Hon. Edison Ogerenye Ehie as Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
The Presiding Judge in an Experte motion warned against the use of thugs and Police officers to forcefully gain access to the premises of Rivers State House of Assembly Complex.
