In order to avert possible ugly fallouts from the Saturday national convention of the All Progressive Congress, President Muhammadu Buhari has met all chairmanship aspirants of the party ahead of Saturday.
Though no statement was issued at the end of the meeting which held at the presidential villa, it was gathered that the President asked the aspirants to approach the Saturday convention where leaders of the party are expected to emerge with caution.
Those who attended the meeting with the President are Senator Sani Musa; a former governor of Nasarawa State, Tanko Al-Makura; a former governor of Benue State, George Akume; an ex-governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari; another former governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Adamu; Saliu Mustapha and Mohammed Etsu.
The aspirants had earlier been screened by the Aminu Masari-led Screening Committee, which took place at the Katsina State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro.
