Former Acting Governor of Ondo state, Mr. Lucky Ayedatiwa haas been sworn in as the substantive governor of the state.
His swearing in by the Chief Judge of the state was sequel to the death of his former boss, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu who passed on in the early hours of Wednesday.
The swearing in which was conducted by Justice Olusegun Odusola, was witnessed by the Speaker of the Ondo state House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji and members of the Assembly.
The secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu, and the state chairman of the ruling party All Progressives Congress, APC, Ade Adetimehin, were also present.
Others include members of the executive council, political office holders, and other party members.
Speaking shortly after his swearing in, Ayedatiwa said the death of Akeredolu was painful recalling his roles in the formation of the South-West security network, Amotekun.
Aiyedatiwa said: “The death of our governor and leader was a devasting shock to the people of the state. It’s a colossal loss to the state and Nigeria.”
He condoled with the governor’s family, the traditional ruler of Owo, and the people of the state.
