The Lagos State government, on Tuesday ordered the closure of the Lekki Conservation Centre.
The announcement came from Lanre Mojola, the Director General/CEO of the safety commission, in a post on Instagram on Tuesday evening.
Mojola cited a viral video which showed the deteriorating condition of the facility as the reason for this decision.
He said It is noteworthy that the commission had initially communicated this directive on Monday through a post on Facebook.
Visitors had shared videos of the broken facility which showed dangers to users.
Many had condemned the management of the centre for allowing the facility to degenerate without taking actions.
