Amidst the heated debate being generated by claims by human rights lawyer Femi Falana that the federal government doled a sum of N135bn to states over COVID19, the presidency has accused Falana of misinformation.
Falana, at an event to commemorate the death of late activist, Dr. Beko Ransome-Kuti, said that the government just last year ending gave the governors a sum of N135bn.
Falana had, after dropping the information, asked in bewilderment, “N135bn for COVID 19 in 2023?”
In his speech, Falana had accused the present Bola Tinubu administration of poor financial management.
But inquiring from the Presidency Tuesday afternoon, an official said Falana was mixing things up adding that the Presidency would react to what the official described as blatant misinformation.
