Afrobeat artiste, Ayodele Balogun popularly known as Wizkid, has set the social media space in a frenzy after throwing jabs at Mavins Record Boss, Don Jazzy, while responding to a tweet by his signee, Ladipoe.
The origin of the controversy began when Ladipoe posted a tweet hinting at a decline in the careers of Afro beats artistes.
“Nigerian rappers that survived ‘hip hop is dead’ watching Afrobeat artists go through their own.” He wrote.
A curious fan had brought the Ladipo’s tweet to Wizkid’s attention, asking him to address it.
“Wizkid Ladipo still talk nonsense yesterday o, Abeg enter that one too,” he wrote
Reacting to the post, Wizkid threw a subtle shade stating he would not be engaging with artistes signed to ‘an influencer’.
“Lol never chatting to anyone signed to an influencer. Next.” He said.
The Ojuelegba crooner also took a swipe at Davido, his colleague, while responding to a user who sought a music release.
Another fan asked the afrobeat star to release another music in which he asked if “it was by force” to release a new track,
The fan replied, “Yes na by force, biggest bird”.
In reaction to this, the 33-year-old shared a viral video of Davido on his kneels, pleading and crying, while asking the user to do the same
This response has therefore left the online space intense between fans of the parties involved.
