Some protesters have on Friday stormed the entrance of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) headquarters in Zamfara State to stage a protest.
According to information gathered by NPO Reports, they are demanding the reopening of investigations into the former Governor of the state, Bello Matawalle.
Under the auspices of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Loyalists Forum, the protesters urged the anti-graft agency to delve into all petitions against Matawalle, particularly concerning the alleged diversion of contracts amounting to N70 billion during his tenure as governor.
The group presented their demands to the EFCC, seeking a thorough investigation into the accusations leveled against the former governor.
Wilson Uwujaren, the EFCC Director of Public Affairs, received the protest letter on behalf of the chairman.
He reassured the demonstrators of the EFCC’s commitment to pursuing every corruption case to its rightful conclusion.
