A prominent politician and former governorship candidate in Lagos state, Mr. Jimi Agbaje has lost his son. Agbaje’s son was said to have died of heart failure in Canada.
Details of the death of the son said to be named Bunmi, are unclear at press time as the family was yet to issue an official statement
Agbaje became prominent in Lagos after he defected from the Alliance for Democracy and joined the defunct Democratic Peoples Alliance (DPA) which took the state by the storm ahead of the 2007 governorship election.
Agbaje would later decamp to the Peoples Democratic Party in pursuit of his governorship ambition. Agbaje has contested for governorship four times in the state displaying huge campaign strength a clear focus in his governance agenda.
Agbaje, a known pharmacyst, was a leading member of the Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere. He was to pitch his tent with the Afenifere Renewal Group when the organisation split into two.
