Hosting Supers Eagles of Nigeria on Friday suffered a setback in their quest for the next world cup as the team drew with South Africa 1-1.
The match was played at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium Uyo.
Many see Friday’s outcome of the match as a continuation of the faulty start of the Eagles in the ongoing campaign for a place in the world cup next year.
Friday’s match was the third draw to be recorded in the build up.
The Nigerian side had scored its only goal at the 46th minute when Dele-Bashiru connected a pass from Iwobi and converted it to a goal. This was the equalizer Eagles had fought for after 27th minute goal by South Africa’s Themba Zwane.
