At least three persons have been pulled out from the rubbles after a building collapsed in the Ayetoro area of Osogbo, the Osun state capital.
Officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said they responded to a distress call which showed that a building had collapsed in the area while some residents were trapped.
While the confusion was ongoing, officials of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Osun state emergency management agency and men of the Nigerian Police arrived to assist in the rescue efforts. The efforts paid off as three people who had been trapped were pulled out of the rubbles.
“with the combine effort of response Stakeholders (3) three persons were rescued alive and victims were taken to Lautech Teaching Hospital Osogbo for immediate treatment,’ said Kadiri Olanrewaju NEMA’s zonal coordinator said on Monday.
