In the wake of the civil unrest across the United Kingdom, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has told Nigerians in the UK to stay vigilant as the unrest intensifies.
The United Kingdom has, over the week, plunged into chaos as anti-immigrant protesters stormed the nation following the death of three girls in last week’s knife attack at Southport.
To this effect, the FG, in a statement issued earlier today, urged Diaspora Community in the UK to be extra vigilant while highlighting measures to be taken.
As contained in the statement, Nigerians in the such are to steer clear of crowded areas and large gatherings.
“There is an increased risk of violence and disorder occasioned by the recent riots in the UK, stemming from the killing Of 3 young girls at a concert. The violence has assumed dangerous proportions as evidenced by reported attacks on Law enforcement agents and darnage to infrastructure.
“To this end, citizens are advised to be extra vigilant and take measures as follows:
“Avoid political processions and protests, rallies or marches
“Avoid crowded areas and large gatherings
“Be vigilant and self aware at all times
“Contact the High Commission with a view to passing information that could be of interest via e-mail and telephone hc@nigeriahc.org.uk, +442078391244.” The statement read
