The Nigerian Railway Corporation on Sunday resumed operations after the suspension of services over the nationwide protests.
Regular users of the railway services had alleged suffering within the period the services were put on hold.
The NRC had notified its customers of the need to suspend operations because of the nationwide protests over hunger and alleged bad governance in the country.
“Dear esteemed passengers, please be informed that due to the planned nationwide protests, the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has suspended all services until further notice,” the NRC had pleaded in a message posted on its website.
On Sunday, the Lagos-Abeokuta-Ibadan corridor was seen opened as train resumed operations.
Passengers were seen at the Babatunde Raji Fashola Train Station in Agege boarding the train to Abeokuta and Ibadan at 8:20 am on Sunday.
A cab driver at the Wole Soyinka Train Station Abeokuta, Mr, Shina, confirmed to the NPO Reports that the period of service suspension created some hardship for those who provide transport services for train users in Abeokuta.
The 10-day nationwide protest ended on Saturday.
NPO Reports observed that the NRC had removed its notice from its website which made it impossible for many to conduct online booking of its services.
