Nigeria and West Africa banking giant, First Bank Group, have disclosed plan to plant 30,000 trees across Nigeria .
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the financial institution yesterday following the commencement of its annual Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability Week.
The event is scheduled to hold till the 24th of August, 2024.
As contained in the statement, the event is aimed at minimizing environmental impact while advancing the bank’s contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals.
Part of this year’s activities is the planting of 30,000 trees across Nigeria as part of First Bank’s commitment to plant 50,000 trees by 2025 in partnership with the Nigeria Conservative Foundation (NCCF).
Also as part of its effort to empower lives of communities, the bank aimed towards performing surgeries and providing post-care kits for women living with Vesicovaginal Fistula (VVF) in Jigawa and Plateau and Jigawa states.
In the same vein, First Bank will mobilize its staffs on visitation to orphanage homes, IDP camps, and other charities across Nigeria, SSA markets, and the United Kingdom.
Speaking on the event, First Bank’s Group Head, Marketing & Corporate Communications, Folake Ani-Mumuney, stressed that the bank is committed to fostering positive impact in the lives of its customers and communities.
